Privacy Policy: PDF Census

PDF Census ("we"), an Arizona sole proprietorship, runs the website at pdfcensus.com. This policy explains what we collect and why.
1. What we collect
When you request a free count, a quote, or an invoice: your website address, your work email, your organization's name, and anything you write in the message box. We also briefly process your IP address to block spam and limit repeated submissions.
When you order: the website address and email you give us. Stripe collects your payment details directly; we never see or store full card numbers. We receive an order record (order number, product, amount, email, and the website address you entered).
When we scan your website: the public PDFs and web pages linked from it, and facts about each PDF (address, link text, dates, page count, and the automated check results). We do not log in, fill in forms, or collect information about your website's visitors. PDFs can contain names or other personal information that your organization published; we process them only to run the checks, and we do not extract, index or reuse personal information from them.
2. How we use it
To deliver the free count or Report, to answer your questions, to send a quote, invoice or receipt, and to run Re-scans you subscribed to. We do not sell or rent personal information, and we do not use it for advertising.
If you ask for a free count, we may send you one follow-up email about the Report. Every email includes a way to opt out, and we honor opt-outs within 10 business days.
3. Cookies and analytics
Our website sets no cookies and uses no third-party analytics or advertising trackers. The checkout page is run by our payment processor, which has its own privacy policy.
4. Who we share it with
Only service providers that help us run the service:
- Stripe for payments;
- Vercel, which hosts our website and request forms;
- Resend, which delivers our notification emails;
- our email provider, which stores the messages you send to apolyre@pdfcensus.com.
We disclose information if the law requires it. Public records laws may apply to what you send us; we are not a public body, but your own records obligations are yours.
5. How long we keep it
Request and order records: as long as needed for accounting and tax purposes (generally up to 7 years for invoices). Scan data and Reports: until 12 months after your last order or Re-scan, then deleted, unless you ask us to delete them sooner. Requests that never become orders: deleted after 12 months.
6. Your choices
Email apolyre@pdfcensus.com to see, correct or delete your information, or to stop emails. We will respond within 30 days.
7. Security
We use HTTPS, keep payment details with our processor, restrict access to order records to the operator, and do not store your Report on a public web address.
8. Children
The service is for organizations. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
